Meet Nerin Naidu
As a leader in education, I graduated as a teacher and guidance counsellor before becoming an author.
Being a teacher myself, I found inspiration for Josh Jellybean from my students. Josh was a timid student who arrived one morning, shyly anticipating what life in a new country and school would be like.
And so we did what came naturally, we welcomed the new kid into our room as a new member of our classroom family.
Although born in South Africa, I have called Australia home for the past 25 years. I am married
with two children and two fur babies.
Candy Cove…the magical land of candy folk! is my first children’s book.
Why this book is important to me…
I have always loved writing stories, creating new landscapes, characters and worlds. This love for writing was passed on to me from my mother, a primary school teacher.
My mum had the amazing ability of telling stories in a way that made me not only want to hear more and more, but to create my own stories of fantasy worlds that one could almost imagine living in.
